It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: The Gang's Most Outrageous Exploits From Each Season

8. The Gang Buys A Boat (Season 6)

Anytime the Gang gets taken out of their usual dank pub habitat is a treat. When they decide to invest $2,500 into a life of leisure, all it buys them is the junkiest boat in the marina. Despite that, it€™s honestly endearing to see them embark on a new and exciting adventure. Charlie and Frank are most interested in using the boat for shrimping, but it€™s Mac and Dennis who steal the episode. By the sixth season the show is really getting bold exploring Dennis€™s sexual deviance and sociopathy. The €œimplication€ speech is maybe the best of his many disturbing monologues. Dennis doesn€™t want to hurt anyone when he takes them out to the middle of the ocean, but he€™s willing to use the implication that he might to get laid. Romantic Mac, who never fully grasps the nuance, later explains to his date that he can€™t wait for her to €œmake rash decisions based on fear.€ Dee is mostly just along for the ride, but Kaitlin Olson gets an especially memorable scene dancing alongside an inflatable tube man to Steve Winwood€™s €œBack in the High Life Again.€ And that moment of relief when the girls show up to save Mac and Dennis from a sketchy party is a rare case of things going right for the Gang. Until, of course, Charlie burns down the boat.
