Judge Dredd: Mega-City One - 10 Things We Want To See
4. A Massive Budget
Dredd is a masterclass in filmmaking on a modest budget. Confining the action to a claustrophobic tower block kept the costs down and some shrewd cinematography conveyed the sense of scale when required.
But Mega-City One must not suffer from budgetary constraints. If it's going to be depicting the true depth of the titular city-state, The Cursed Earth, and the Dark Judges, spending power to match Westworld or Game of Thrones is needed.
Hopefully this is within the realms of possibility, since IM Global Television has teamed up with Rebellion to get the project off the ground, and major networks such as HBO, Netflix, and Amazon have been touted as potential homes for the show.
Presumably, if the showrunners have the funds to pursue Hollywood talent like Karl Urban, they won't be making Mega-City One on peanuts, so fingers crossed it will get the blockbuster budget it deserves.
