Legion Season 2: Ranking Every Character From Worst To Best

First of all, major kudos should go to Rachel Keller for doing much of the emotional heavy lifting of this season and, through the strength of her performance, making sure that we are invested in the crazy circumstances of David's life. She really is the show's rock.

In season 1, Syd was largely defined by her relationship with David - and, while that's still mostly true, the breaking down of their romance across season 2 helps add other dimensions to the character. Chapter 12, for example, explores Syd's life as a whole and we get to see her inner steel, which foreshadows how she trusts herself above all others.

Which comes into play when Syd learns from her future self that David is the true threat to the world. In the heart-breaking finale, Syd decides that her man needs to die in order to avert the apocalypse. It's a bold move that leaves us wondering where exactly Syd will go next year. With David off the deep end, she could even effectively become the protagonist of the piece.
