Loki Season 2 Episode 1 Review - 7 Ups & 2 Downs
6. Up - The New Faces
No matter how strong the cast of season one was, season two was always going to need an injection of new blood. Episode one gave a glimpse of several of these characters, and it already looks as though there will be some strong additions to the series.
These new faces all belonged to workers of the TVA, with one potentially looking as though she may step into Renslayer's role from season one. Kate Dickie is no stranger to playing a detestable villain, and her role as General Dox looks to be in a similar vein.
However, as great as these new characters were, the show was unequivocally stolen by Ke Huy Quan, the newest Academy Award winner to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As Ouroboros, the character for whom the episode was named, he ran the entire second half of the episode, and was instantly a loveable addition to proceedings.
Right now it's unclear how much BO will appear in the series. He may have been used only as a plot device to bring Loki back to the right time, and to deliver some exposition about the TVA and such, but hopefully this is not the case. BO could be an asset through the entire six-episode stretch.
