Ok, that is all Luke Cage actually does hear anyway, but whatever. Let's reiterate, the guy tears off a car door, and uses it first as a shield, and then as a weapon.
The question here is why exactly he needs to use the car door? As already established by the trailer, he has bulletproof skin, so has no cause for it as a shield or a battering ram. Maybe it's to protect his clothes? That seems setup to be a running gag in the series, and the car door would be a neat way of him trying to get around it.
