Marvel's Luke Cage Season 2: 10 Big Questions We're Left With
2. Will Luke Ever Become A Hero For Hire?
There's a few things about Luke Cage that even casual comic book readers knew about him before his TV show came out: he's bullet-proof, nicknamed Power Man and he's a Hero for Hire. We're two seasons and a Defenders mini-series into Mike Colter's career as Luke on the small screen, however, and he still hasn't got started on his crime-fighting business.
The weird thing is that seasons 1 and 2 seem to have been carefully building up to it. The phrase "hero for hire" has popped up a few times to date and when Luke is hired by Piranha Jones and then Mariah Dillard to protect them in season 2, it seemed that he would be a true HfH by the end of the run.
In the end, though, Luke took a very different career path, deciding to fill the power vacuum in Harlem and take over Mariah's criminal kingdom. With that no doubt occupying him throughout next season, we're left wondering if he'll ever properly become a Hero for Hire.
