Marvel's The Defenders: 10 Ways It Sets Up The Next Phase

4. Iron Fist Finds His Home

It's no secret that most viewers did not take to Danny Rand after his debut in Iron Fist season one. Part of the problem was that the character himself was so unsure and whiny all the time. If he was trained as a great warrior all his life, why did he always seem to doubt himself and make bad decisions?

While it's not like his character flaws are completely cured in The Defenders, his fellow heroes definitely rub off on him and Danny clearly matures over these eight episodes. Even if he is little more than a damsel in distress for the final two episodes.

By the end of the series, though, Danny has come to a major breakthrough. With K'un-Lun apparently gone, he is going to honour Daredevil's name by taking his place as the nighttime protector of New York. As he tells Colleen, the city is "starting to feel like home."

Looks like we should expect a more focused Danny - maybe one with a costume? - in Iron Fist season two.
