Marvel's Daredevil: 10 Reasons It's The Best Comic Book Show Ever
1. Seeds Are Sown For An Even Better Second Season
Daredevil accomplishes the task of telling a brilliant, season long story that could function perfectly well as a 'one and done' tale. However, given that the series has been so well-received, it is unlikely that this is the last audiences will see of it, so it is to their credit that the show's creators have layered in hints towards the future.
Even though the series is predominantly mired in the world of organized crime, episode seven seems to point towards a storyline of a more supernatural nature. As well as introducing Murdock's irascible former mentor Stick, it also drops hints to something evil named 'Black Sky' that even Wilson Fisk is afraid of.
This plot point isn't addressed again in the series, so it is likely to be picked up in season two (or even in the first season of Iron Fist, one of the other Netflix Marvel shows still to come).
It's also notable that the creators didn't use many of Daredevil's most well-known villains in the series. There are minor appearances from The Owl and Gladiator (who are both changed considerably from their comic book counterparts), but no place for the likes of Bullseye, Elektra or The Purple Man. So they clearly offer future opportunities.
