Marvel's The Punisher Season 2: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

Frank Castle has been involved in some of the best action sequences of the M/NU, and there's plenty more to come in these 13 episodes. From a ferocious rooftop fight against Daredevil, to the sledgehammer brawl that started Punisher S1 and the vicious fairground battle that ended it, there have been some very memorable and, let's face it, brutal scenes involving our man Frank.

Season 1 admirably restrained itself from including action completely for the sake of it but it had many other highlights including Castle's showdown with the police in the hotel stairwell in episode 10, and his stealthy way of picking off the team sent to kill him in the forest in episode 5.

While some have complained about the level of violence on the show, it's a vital part of the character and to tone it down too much would ruin the excellent vision of The Punisher we've been given. With Daredevil leading the way in upping the stakes - with iconic one take fights becoming more complex each season - The Punisher should pull out all the stops to add even more thrilling action in season 2. The extended trailer, which shows Frank spraying machine gun fire, blowing open a door and taking a shotgun blast to the armour - before we then see an ambulance crashing to the ground off a bridge, and Frank taking on multiple adversaries in hand-to-hand combat - looks like it will deliver!
