2. Our Last Chance To See Jon Bernthal As The Punisher?
A sad notion to flag up, but very likely true. With Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil all cancelled it seems all-but-certain that the upcoming series of The Punisher and Jessica Jones will mark the end of those shows as well, and the final close of the Marvel/Netflix Universe.
While there have been some hints from Disney that the characters could return in another form, and Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onfrio recently got behind an online campaign to resurrect Daredevil, there doesn't seem much chance of a full-scale return to the terrific, multi-layered portrait of the mean streets of New York City we've been gifted these last few years.
Whatever the future - and few will complain if Jon Bernthal shows up to blow away Thanos in Avengers: Endgame this summer - for now we'll have to assume that The Punisher season 2 will be the last time we'll get to experience the actor's dark, gritty, but very human portrayal of Frank Castle. We'll just have to enjoy it while it lasts!
