MCU What If...? - 10 Biggest Takeaways From Episode 5
3. Two Peas In A Pod
There have been love stories throughout the majority of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, some that have ended well, and others that haven’t. There is perhaps no greater tragedy in this regard however, than the story of Wanda and Vision’s love.
Not only did Wanda lose Vision after already losing her entire family, she had to be the one to kill him, and as if that wasn’t bad enough, she had to watch him be brought back to life just to be killed again. It’s no surprise that grief drove her to create her own happy reality at the expense of the citizens of Westview, New Jersey.
In this universe, the shoe was on the other foot. Instead of Wanda losing Vision, Vision lost Wanda to the zombie virus. Since her powers made her impervious to Vision’s potential cure, he elected to keep her alive by feeding her a controlled diet of human flesh from the likes of T’Challa.
Both have experienced the loss of each other, and the overwhelming grief that threatened to drown them forced them both into crazy acts that usually would have been unthought of for a superhero. Truly, the love they shared for each other was so strong that they would do absolutely anything to keep from losing them.
