MCU What If...? - 10 Biggest Takeaways From Episode 5
2. Vision Dies... Again
For many years in the MCU, Loki was the king of the death scene. He seemingly died at the end of Thor, and at the end of The Dark World, before actually dying in Infinity War at the hands of Thanos. He even managed one more fake out death when he was pruned in episode four of his own Disney+ series.
However, he has now been overtaken for deaths in the MCU by Vision. Originally existing as JARVIS, the AI system was overtaken by Ultron before returning as Vision. In spite of the Mind Stone in his forehead, he was then killed once by Wanda in Infinity War, before Thanos killed him again. Another version of him has since been created in WandaVision, and once again, the Scarlet Witch had to watch him die.
Due to him being an android, he was immune to the zombie virus, and thus carved out something of a headquarters for himself at Camp Lehigh. This however, didn’t stop him from dying once more, this time at his own hand.
To give his fellow Avengers the best possible chance of survival, the android ripped the Infinity Stone from his own head, taking his life so that Bruce and co. could live. With White Vision still out there somewhere after WandaVision, this may not even be the last time Vision dies in the MCU.
