MCU What If...? - 9 Biggest Takeaways From Episode 2
2. The Cast
Episode two, as will be the case for the rest of the series, was delivered by an all star cast of MCU favourites. The premise promised certain characters, however excitement went through the roof as the opening credits revealed the likes of Josh Brolin, Benicio del Toro, Kurt Russell, Carrie Coon, and Seth Green.
Unlike the first episode however, there were absolutely no weak links. The voice acting performances of Sebastian Stan and Dominic Cooper left a lot to be desired the week before T’Challa headed for the stars, but this time out there were no complaints to be had.
Again, there were a couple of characters that returned to the MCU but were voiced by different actors. Dave Bautista and Michael Shaw were replaced by Fred Tatasciore for Drax and Corvus Glaive respectively, and Peter Quill was voiced by Brian T. Delaney rather than Chris Pratt. These roles were only small cameos, but the two newcomers to the franchise gave strong performances that didn’t leave audiences demanding the return of the MCU originals.
Dave Bautista wasn’t happy that he wasn’t brought back for the role, but the episode got by just fine without him.
