1. What If... Ultron Won?
After the success of The Avengers in 2012, Age of Ultron three years later failed to live up to the expectations set for it. What If…? however, took the concept, tweaked the tiniest detail of Ultron succeeding in occupying his new vibranium body, and it turned into something truly incredible.
This was another dark episode in a dystopian future created by Ultron, something far more similar to the story arc of the comics. Natasha and Clint’s journey to trying to save the world was great to watch, and the latter's sacrifice was nothing short of stunning, but it was Jeffrey Wright’s Watcher that stole the show.
After seven weeks of standing by, resisting the urge to intervene, the Watcher was forced into action by the Infinity Stone powered Ultron. The battle the two had throughout the multiverse was one of the greatest action pieces of the entire series, with two insanely powered gods kicking the hell out of each other, and the series finally properly utilizing the talents of Jeffrey Wright.
The episode was essentially part one of the incredible What If…? finale, and set up the Guardians of the Multiverse’s battle with Ultron in episode nine. However, even as a standalone episode, this was stunning.
