21. The Curtain Call
2013 Ted meets Tracy and 2030 Ted finally gets Robin. The end. Not quite. Bays and Thomas are going to tug at your heartstrings on last time. After an ending title card, we're treated to a final roll call of the regulars (including Cristin Milioti, who was officially a main cast member in Season 9), showing how they all looked back in that very first episode. It's the icing on cake of finality, hammering home just how much has changed in the past nine years and making us want to start the whole thing over again.
20. Lily And Marshalls Costumes
If theres one area of the show the finale didnt put much focus on it was Marshall and Lilys relationship. We guess after their renewal of vows in The End Of The Aisle, theres little emotional development to be made (their future together is secured after all). But that didnt stop Bays and Thomas reminding us just how cute they can be. Since way back in Season 1 their shared Halloween costumes have been an ultimate show of couple supremacy and in the finale (Marshall as Captain Ahab, a pregnant Lily as the white whale) they almost top Jack Sparrow and his parrot.
