Moon Knight: Every Main Character Ranked From Worst To Best

2. Marc Spector

For the first two episodes of Moon Knight, Marc Spector was sat on the sidelines. He was only seen sparingly in Steven’s reflections, and even when he did take over the body, for the most part it didn’t happen on screen. That all changed in episode three.

When Marc was finally given the spotlight, as he was typically in the comics, he shone as a character. Far tougher and rougher than Steven, Marc offered another dimension and layer to the show. This was the protagonist fans were expecting, as he proved that Steven’s first impressions of him were wrong.

He was far from perfect, but Marc Spector went to great lengths and great personal cost to protect Layla, and to prevent Ammit’s tomb from being opened. He may have inadvertently had a hand in the death of Layla’s father, and hurt more people besides, but he was a broken man, damaged and with no chance of a normal life thanks to his mother.

It wasn’t until he finally embraced Steven rather than shut him out that he as a character became as close to complete as he could be. His speech in the Duat while rescuing Steven was one of the highlights of the entire show, and showed what a journey he went through over just six episodes.
