Mr. Robot: 10 Best Episodes
2. Whoami And Hello,Elliot
So you might say that this is technically cheating, but to truly appreciate the ending of Mr. Robot, you've got to think of part one and part two of the show's finale as a whole. They're both very good as separate episodes, but they need to be seen back-to-back so the full impact can be felt.
Anyone who watches the show knew that the ending was going to be twisted and messed up, but no-one could've expected what would eventually happen. All along we believed that we were watching the real Elliot Alderson tackle the Dark Army, when we were actually in the presence of another part of his personality, also known as the Mastermind.
Watching the Elliot we know come to grips with this and the fact that he must give up control so the real Elliot could finally be let free really is heartbreaking. We've watched this character go through so much, only to find out that they're not real is was a crushing experience for Elliot and us. That only goes to show the quality of writing that happened throughout the show's four year run.
Speaking of the real Elliot, there have been plenty of dark and downright disturbing moments on this show, but watching Elliot smother the normal version of himself was just jaw-dropping. There are a number of moments in the show that prove how desperate Elliot is, but it's never been more clear than this particular moment, along with the build up to it.
