Mr Robot: 10 Worst Things That Happened To Elliot Alderson

We know how Elliot can't stand seeing someone else get hurt and abused. Case in point: his girlfriend Shayla.

Shayla was Elliot's neighbour/drug dealer who was being abused by her boyfriend and his future stalker Vera. When Elliot discovered his abuse towards her, he tipped off the police about his criminal activities and sent him to prison. After that, Elliot and Shayla grew closer and decided to start a romantic relationship together. Unfortunately, Vera figured out that Elliot was the anonymous tipper and had Shayla kidnapped for revenge. He blackmailed Elliot to break him out of prison if he wanted Shayla back, alive and well.

While Elliot was successful in doing so, Vera didn't stick to his promise and left him with a brutal reward: Shayla's dead corpse in the back of the car trunk. Turns out that Shayla was killed before Elliot even started with the hack and he had been riding in the car while her body was in the trunk. This traumatised Elliot so badly to the point he broke down, left society and shut down for over a month.
