Netflix: 10 Original Horror Series To Binge This Halloween
4. Kingdom
A short, blockbuster quality six-episode drama, this Korean historical zombie survival horror does a lot of things right, with Game of Thrones level political machinations and heart-stopping action, as well as suspense and body horror added to the mix.
Kingdom (νΉλ€) follows a few different people that converge when a strange illness coming from the Royal Palace spreads across the land in the form of a zombie apocalypse, with "monsters" that hunger for living human flesh tearing across the landscape at heart-stopping speed, adding to their numbers as they go, only slowing when the sun comes out, forcing them to hide.
The zombie-style action, however, is only part of the appeal, with the political machinations of the corrupt Cho family the cause of the crisis, trying to keep their hold over the king and hunting the Crown Prince, who tries to help save people from the hordes alongside physician Seo-Bi, one of the first to discover the illness and try to cure it, as well as the mysterious sharpshooter Yeong-Shin and the prince's bodyguard Moo-Young.
The perfect blend of action, horror, historical and political drama, this series deserves to be watched ten times over.
