Netflix: 10 Upcoming Titles To Be Excited About From SWNAsia

5. Kingdom (Season 2)

This medieval Korean zombie show (and what a premise that is!) gets its second season announced even before the first season has premiered on Netflix, with the colourful and intriguing high-budget series almost demanding attention with its enthralling first trailer.

When the emperor dies and somehow comes back to life in Korea's Joseon period, the crown prince is sent on a suicide mission to investigate a plague overtaking the countryside—one that reveals itself to be a zombie outbreak.

Written by Kim Eun-hee, known for his writing on South Korean police procedurals and other such mystery shows, and directed by Kim Seong-hun, known for his Cannes-selected film A Hard Day and 2016 survival film Tunnel, are at the helm of this gorgeous, dark series.

Ju Ji-hoon of Princess Hours fame plays the crown prince, and Bae Doo-na of Cloud Atlas and Sense8 fame plays a character going by the name Seo-bi, who encounters the undead in the countryside in the trailer.

Though viewers have to wait until January 2019 to see the first season, it already looks promising enough for everyone to be excited, as early as now, for more.
