Preacher Season 3 Premiere: 8 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Angelville'

1. That Typical Season Premiere Feel

As is the case with almost every series on the air, Angelville suffered from that typical premiere feel. As a result, there was an awful lot of time spent on introducing the new characters instead of focusing on the protagonists. Additionally, a lot of time was also devoted to setting up the season's arc, which resulted in us being left with more questions than answers.

Moreover, we knew from all of the Season 3 promotional posters that Tulip was going to be resurrected, and yet we had to wait until the end of the episode for this to happen, which meant that a lot of the stuff that came before - such as Jesse's fight with Jody - all felt a little contrived.

But these are small issues in what was a pretty great episode. Even with the season premiere vibe, Angelville was still an enjoyable opening to what'll hopefully be a great season. It can only get better from here on out.
