Earth-2's answer to the Reverse-Flash, Zoom took great pleasure in making life a nightmare for Barry Allen. Perhaps it was a little safe for the show to recycle the unidentified mystery speedster villain for a second year running, but it's easy to let that slide when it's pulled off so well. Additionally, the fact that Zoom came from Earth-2 introduced the multiverse, which opened the Arrowverse up to countless possibilities.

While his motives appeared to be dangerously simple (stealing The Flash's speed), it was eventually revealed that they stemmed from jealousy of Barry's blessed life. So while Zoom was undoubtedly an appropriate threat, one of his most alluring qualities was that he was actually a really deep character under the surface.

While his desires made him compelling, his greatest attribute was definitely his appearance. The all-black bodysuit with the torn mouth-holes made Zoom one of the most menacing sights to ever grace our TV screens. Moreover, the blue lightning that surrounded him as he ran added to the frightening appearance while the suit's long, sharp fingernails allowed him to kill his enemies without having to chase them. But his cold dead eyes and raspy voice were undoubtedly the two most chilling aspects about the character and helped ensure that Zoom was easily the most terrifying villain the Arrowverse has ever seen.
