Ranking Every Doctor Who Trailer Worst To Best

2. The Journey Begins

What's this? The Doctor and his new companion just lying down? This trailer starts fairly tame as the Eleventh Doctor does a pin-sticker guide for Amy to the constellations (he really should have put that star out) but the ground is swiftly pulled from under their (and our) feet as they are both thrown into a vortex of time and space containing new and old enemies.

With the abundance of 3D movies at the time the BBC decided to jump on this trend and release a trailer that was shown both in the home and in cinemas for the fifth series and the visual effects used speak for themselves. We are treated to the Doctor casting his companion aside in order to take on a Weeping Angel in close quarters, only for it to explode in dazzling colour and for us hear the Doctor's killer line: “All of time and space, anywhere and everywhere, every star that ever was. Where do you want to start?'.

If this wasn't enough, just as you think it's the end, the entire scene rips violently apart to show us a Silurian mask. We're used to the odd jump scare in Doctor Who, but admit it, the first time you saw this trailer you definitely weren't expecting to see that!

Christopher Steven hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
