Ranking Every Doctor Who Trailer Worst To Best
1. The Trip Of A Lifetime
BOOM! Let's be honest, there was just no way that the top spot was going to go to any other trailer than the one which started it all. We are immediately shown an explosion and then see the man who we will come to know as the Ninth Doctor, who asks us “D'you wanna come with me?”.
This question was a no-brainer to the fans who had waited since 1989 for the return of the TV series, and this preview certainly didn't disappoint. Over a sumptuous industrial techno version of the classic Doctor Who theme (Note to Big Finish – please, please use this arrangement for the upcoming Ninth Doctor adventures set before 'Rose', it would work so well!), we are teased with “all sorts of things” we are going to see - “ghosts from the past, aliens from the future, the day the Earth died in a ball of flame...”.
Throughout all this, we see the new TARDIS console for the first time
in all its glory and are given tantalising glimpses of a spaceship
crashing into Big Ben, an inbound missile, a chained Dalek and much
more. For these first few moments, the viewer is assured that this is
going to be no mere reboot and as Christopher Eccleston puts it
beautifully at the end, they are in for “The
Trip of A Lifetime”.
