Ranking Every Season Of The Walking Dead (So Far)
6. Season One
The season that started it all, Season One is only six episodes long but manages to pack one hell of a punch. Season One is the show at its most tight and consistent, thanks to filmmaker and original showrunner Frank Darabont. The stakes are high and the set up of what is to come is very fun to watch. You know right from the first, infamous frame exactly what kind of show you're dealing with, and it doesn't let up.
Rick Grimes is played wonderfully by Andrew Lincoln, and Norman Reedus and Jon Bernthal steal their scenes with their explosive acting and perfect delivery.
This season sets up the world perfectly and makes the audience root for people they've only just met like they're family. Instead of being a simple season of exposition, Season One elevates itself above such ideas and what we get instead is an epic, fully fleshed out organism. Sure, it was only the beginning, but as soon as the final episode calls it a day you know you're ready for whatever comes next.
