8. Wipe Morty’s Memories
After two successful ventures with the Interdimensional Cable formula in Seasons One and Two, the show switched things up in season three. With that came Morty’s Mindblowers, a move away from improv-heavy TV shows from other dimensions, and into past adventures Morty’s been on.
A bit like Community, Dan Harmon’s other hit show, it’s a clip show featuring clips we’ve never seen before. We see Morty enraging a gang of squirrels and accidentally getting a teacher fired after some confusion with a man on the moon. This affair at least gives Principal Vagina (no relation) some much-needed screen time, but the laughs cover a darker agenda.
The reason we’ve never seen them before is because Morty can’t remember them. Whenever he experiences something traumatic, Rick just wipes his memory. You could chalk this up to looking out for his grandson and just being too overzealous. But there’s also the fact that anytime Rick screws up, he’s able to just make Morty forget.
The pair end up in a huge fight; something which clearly happens often when they do this. Summer has a list of disaster scenarios and needs to step in to put everything right again.
