Rick And Morty: Every Season Four Episode Ranked Worst To Best
1. Star Mort: Rickturn Of The Jerri
It may not have been the best season the show has ever put out, and on reflection it may not have been worth both the two year and the six month wait, but season four ended with one of the strongest episodes of Rick and Morty in some time.
There aren't too many stories that span multiple episodes within Rick and Morty, yet Star Mort picked a narrative back up from the end of season three, one that fans had wanted to see a conclusion to ever since. Clone Beth came back, and it wasn't just mindless fan service, there was a real story to be told.
The long-awaited reunion between Rick and Phoenixperson, Rick getting revenge on Tammy for what happened in season two, and the return of his daughter (or her clone), brought us to one of the most harrowing conclusions in Rick and Morty history. Rick finally realised just how terrible a father he is, and always has been.
Stupid fun and cool gadgets can often make for good episodes of this show, but the truly elite are able to tap into raw emotion. The best way the show could have handled this story was to never reveal the truth surrounding Beth, because no matter the answer, Rick's revelation wouldn't have changed.
