Riverdale: 10 Characters Who Deserve More Love

1. Polly Cooper

Riverdale Josie McCoy
The CW

Never underestimate a girl who runs away at nine and allows the whole neighborhood to search for her while she relaxes in the attic. As an adult, the drama surrounding Polly has only escalated. Her contentious romance with Jason introduced multiple problems for two of the town's most established families.

Though she's the more suspicious sister of the Cooper clan and was at the center of the Blossom mystery, Polly's fortitude fails to waver. Her parents place her in a group home against her wishes. Polly persists despite the set-backs, escaping the home so that she can build a life with Jason and their unborn baby.

Jason's death doesn't deter her dream. She protects her baby with fervor even as her parents attempt to make other arrangements. After choosing to relocate to the Blossoms, Polly risks her safety while trying to uncover the fate of her late boyfriend. Her history with Jason earns her plenty of stares and criticism from the townspeople, including verbal attacks from her child's grandparents. Polly stays resolute in her mission despite the slanderous statements against her.

The former child runaway continues to head towards her goal of being a capable mother in the wake of controversy and condemnation. She no longer waits in the attic but takes action so she can stand tall.
