Alexis Rose is the daughter of Johnny and Moira, a previously wealthy couple who lost their entire fortune after being defrauded by their business partner. The Roses only learned of this betrayal after the bailiffs turned up at their luxurious mansion, forcing them to give up all their possessions and move into a motel in a small town, with no designer shops!

Before being forced to move to the town of Schitt's Creek, Alexis enjoyed a very lavish lifestyle. She would often travel the globe, visiting exotic places and meeting various different celebrities along the way. It's probably fair to say she was living the dream.

Throughout the series, Alexis grew from a self-involved "celebutante" to an independent young woman who was looking to start her own business. Schitt's Creek was great for Alexis and she really learned that loving others required sacrifice and selflessness.
