Sherlock: 8 Other Alternative Sherlock Holmes Adaptations

6. Batman: The Brave And The Bold €“ 'Trials Of The Demon'

In the 'Batman: The Brave and the Bold' animated series, Sherlock Holmes comes face to face with Gotham's very own crime-fighter, Batman! Brought back in time by Jason Blood (otherwise known as Etrigan the Demon), Batman teams up with the original dynamic duo of Holmes and Watson to clear Blood's name after he's framed by Batman's enemy, the Gentleman Ghost. Although it may seem odd, what could be more natural than the meeting of the world's two Greatest Detectives? To demonstrate, one of the episodes best moment comes upon the heroes' first meeting: Sherlock Holmes: "He's a hero, it's obvious from the bright blue and yellow in his costume. The mask means he must be well-known. Perhaps a wealthy entrepreneur with ample free time. Square jaw indicates strong lineage, perhaps a doctor's son. And the bat motif must surely be inspired by some childhood trauma. The Masked Bat, perhaps?" Batman: "Actually, it's Batman. Sherlock Holmes, I presume?" Sherlock Holmes: "How did you deduce my identity so quickly?" Batman: "The hat." There's no flies on the Bat.
