9. Edna Krabappel
20th Century FoxEdna Krabappel began her career with a desire to help young children learn. However, spending years in the school system dealing with problem children and problem colleagues alike has meant that Ednas positive motives have dwindled almost entirely. While her passion for her job fizzled away, so did her marriage. Her husband left her for their marriage counsellor. Edna, much like many of Springfields troubled residents, turned to alcohol to help her through the day, particularly after she was fired from a private school. Since arriving in Springfield, Ednas main priority was to find the love of her life. Her main conquest was Principal Skinner with whom she had an ultimately unsuccessful on/off relationship with. Edna is often shown as being somewhat promiscuous, perhaps out of desperation to find someone before it was too late. In the episode My Big Fat Geek Wedding, Edna almost marries both Principal Skinner and Comic Book Guy but both weddings are called off. Its not all doom and gloom for Edna though; she eventually ends up married to Ned Flanders up until her retirement from the show this year.
