7. Rescuing Homer From Frank Grimes Jr.
Here, we again see Bob turn hero - but not without being forced into correcting his behaviour via a debilitating, electric ankle bracelet, which he wears as part of his conditions from being released from jail. With a madman on the loose (and for once, it's not Sideshow Bob), someone is out to kill Homer in the 2002 episode "The Great Louse Detective". Agreeing that they need to seek advice from a man who "knows the twisted mind of a criminal", Chief Wiggum and the Simpsons organise Bob's release from prison so that he may help catch Homer's would-be assassin. It turns out the mystery attempted murderer was none other than Frank Grimes Jnr. Son of Frank Grimes, Homer's arch nemesis. After the float he was given for becoming King of the Springfield Mardi Gras had its brakes tampered by Grimes Jnr. Homer is put on a collision course with the Museum of Swordfish and faces certain death. That is until Bob flies in to the rescue after being fired out of a cannon and, using his giant feet to hook Homer under the armpits just in time, saves the day. It was fun seeing Bob put at the mercy of the Simpsons with the electric bracelet component, and seeing him get zapped, even when he hadn't done anything wrong, for once made the predator seem vulnerable.
