Sons Of Anarchy: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
6. Season Three
Sons of Anarchy's third season is without question its most divisive - fans either hate it with every fibre of their being, or think it's the best of the series. There's rarely an in-between.
The main issue with season three is that it follows one of the show's strongest chapters, and never quite lives up to what season two set in motion. On top of that, Sutter once more shows he has an issue when it comes to pacing, keeping SAMCRO in Belfast for longer than was needed, in unfamiliar territory that was meant to shake up the dynamic of the show but just made it all feel a bit wonky and out-of-place.
That being said, if that look at the season with fresh eyes, it does have some of the show's most truly great moments, including Jax following his kidnapped son and his adopted parents, and the forever satisfying deaths of Agent Stahl and Jimmy O'Fallon.
Like all the weaker seasons of the show, season three has its issues, mainly manifested by over-long subplots and the laughably bad accent of O'Fallon actor Titus Welliver, but all told it has one of the best season finale's of the show, and deserves to be recognised for the risk it took - even if it didn't quite pan out.
