Star Trek: 10 Crazy Facts About Klingons

6. They Destroyed Their Own Gods

Like other species, the Klingons have their own mythology and religious beliefs. These beliefs are the basis of Klingon society and culture, and are a huge part of the Way of the Warrior.

The gods created the first two Klingons, a male and a female. Naturally, they were incredibly fierce warriors with a lust for battle and a thirst for the blood of their enemies. Unfortunately, for the Klingon gods their targets were the Klingon gods. The first two Klingons killed them all, then reduced the heavens to smoking ash.

Again, other races in the Star Trek universe have their one mythologies and religious beliefs. But most of them didn't kill their own gods before their species got fully started. For the Klingons, this mythology makes perfect sense in a strange way. They live their lives violently so it only seems natural that they wiped out their own creators.
