Star Trek: 10 Examples Of Incredibly Lazy Alien Makeup

3. The Dosi - Rules of Acquisition (Deep Space Nine)

Rules 100

It's a day out at the fair. For these aliens in season two of Deep Space Nine however they bypassed the stall offering tigers or Spiderman and headed straight for the hotch-potch facial stand. Extremely aggressive in the episode Rules of Acquisition you have to question why anyone wondered why they were so perturbed looking like someone had taken advantage of their friend after a drunken night out. The overall effect is pretty cringeworthy and makes the Wadi of season one look like masterpieces of creation. In this instance the addition of the slightly S and M chain-mail outfit that Brian Thompson got to wear was less than flattering and added to the whole mixed up image created here. The package is poor and the race a laughing stock. At this point you had to wonder if the Star Trek universe was running out of decent makeup concepts or if Westmore was ill because the face-painter at the fair could have knocked up a quality tiger, Spiderman or a Power Ranger instead. No shocker that Thompson would get a much better chance at playing Mr Angry as a Jem'Hadar pummelling Martok a few years later. Reminds us of: Staying on the sunbed for a few days too long

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
