Following his appearance in Journey To Babel, the fan response to Sarek was substantial to say the least.

Owing largely to Mark Lenard's performance, it wasn't long before the fan mail would start flooding in. In fact, for the first two weeks, the number of letters was so vast that it even exceeded those received by series regular Leonard Nimoy. Of the many fans that Sarek and Lenard gained from this episode, Nimoy proudly counted himself amongst them, stating in the Season 2 special feature To Boldly Go… Season Two: "Mark had a real sense of the dignity and authority the character needed"

Over the years, Sarek would constantly appear in 'Best of' Lists, including 13th best character in IGN's 2009 list, 11th best in ScreenRant in 2016, and 5th best recurring character in CBR's 2018 list. He would also feature in SyFy's unranked list of most interesting supporting characters in 2015, amongst such distinguished fan favourites as the omnipotent Q and duplicitous Cardassian Garak.

Interesting company to say the least.
