Star Trek: 10 Starfleet Crews That Totally LOST IT

2. Enterprise: Singularity

What happens when obsession takes over at the expense of everything else?

Singularity sees T'Pol learn that lesson the hard way when the rest of the crew succumb to the radiation from a trinary star system they're approaching. One by one, they're all sucked into some kind of trivial task that's been occupying them. Apart from T'Pol.

Having been tasked with making the captain's chair more comfortable, Tucker sets about it as if he's building the first ever starship. Reed is designing a security system that would make even Worf cry with happiness. Sato loses herself in creating the perfect meal for the crew as if she's in the final of a cooking competition. Dr. Phlox is eyeing up Mayweather with a scalpel in his hand and a gleam in his eye that's reminiscent of Sweeney Todd. And Archer is relentlessly reciting the umpteenth draft of a preface he's writing to Porthos, even snapping at him when the doggo starts barking for his dinner. Bad Archer.

As always in such scenarios, Enterprise finds itself in ever-increasing peril, and this time it's up to T'Pol to save everyone. Once far enough away from the radiation, they all recover with little more than bruised egos and a piece of newfound wisdom; while hyper-focus can be useful at times, it can also be an absolute pain in the neck.

It did have some good outcomes, though...a new tactical alert, a chair Archer could tolerate for ten seconds, and Sato discovering she was born to scream the word 'carrots'.
