Star Trek: 10 Times The Ship Was Stolen

7. Well, This Is Just Embarrassing

This one was so bad that Odo saw fit to tease Worf about it years later. While the crew of the Enterprise were dealing with several of their number accidentally regressing to become children once more, a group of Ferengi highjacked the Galaxy-class starship with two stolen Birds-of-Prey.

Quite apart from that being a sentence no self-respecting commander would ever want to write, it simply stands out for all of the wrong reasons. The episode's writers even lamented that particular plot point years later.

This simply shouldn't have happened. Quite apart from the fact that no Federation starship should have been weak enough to be overcome by two older models of ships, the Ferengi simply shouldn't have had the opportunity to board as quickly as they did. Also, what on earth was happening for the crew to give such little resistance once they came aboard? They were using phasers set to stun, for goodness sake!

Though it's fitting that the children on board the ship were instrumental in outwitting the invaders, this is a dark, dark page in Starfleet history - and particularly for one surly Klingon officer.
