Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Ranking Every Major Character Worst To Best

17. Weyoun

Star Trek Deep Space Nine
CBS

The most suave negotiator in the Dominion with one of the most punch-able (said with love) faces out there, Weyoun is the Vorta mouthpiece for the other side.

Jeffrey Combs (whom we very much hope to see in Strange New Worlds) was invited to play the part for one episode initially. He was loved by the fans and the trick of the Vorta all being clones was introduced simply to bring him back again. And again. And again.

He is smarmy. He is a snake oil salesman. He is constantly trying to get the other guy on the back foot. His attempts at charm may seem sincere, but there is a cold evil behind those eyes. He casually oversees the slaughter of millions during the war, all the time laughing with his generals - whomever the favourite general may be that day.

He was the one villain who's (final) death was a true shame. He is shot in cold blood by Garak after making one too many quips about the fate of the Cardassian Empire. His confidence finally was his downfall, even if it took several lifetimes to figure it out.

Jeffrey Combs had a true skill in chewing the scenery with such subtlety that it was hard to see sometimes that he was dominating every scene that he was in. Yet watch carefully - he is always watching, always moving, always present in his scenes. His is creepy, in the most positive way.
