Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Ranking Every Major Character Worst To Best

4. Quark

Deep Space Nine Quark
Paramount

The ultimate Ferengi and the constant thorn in Odo's side, Quark was the greatest anti-hero that Deep Space Nine ever offered. He was fun, he was devious, he was deceitful. Yet, he could be trusted when the situation called for it, though not without trying to secure a little profit while he was at it.

On learning that the Ferengi culture was changing out of his control, Quark vowed that his bar would always be an outpost of the old Ferengi way of life. He would ensure the games were rigged, the drinks were watered and the mark ups expensive. He was a Ferengi, through and through.

Quark saw battle in his time as well, both hand to hand and ship to ship. He did what he could to stay in control of every negotiation, going so far as to explain to a Vulcan as to why her position was not logical (and winning!).

His constant schemes were one of the most fun elements of the show to watch. Even on a quiet week, Quark could be counted on to make any dark situation into a light one, whether through actual comedy or outrageously inappropriate statements. Misogyny, thy name is Quark, as he believed in the fundamental rules of his culture that women were not equal to men.

This was a rule he attempted to enforce in his bar, though with little ongoing success. The most recent update puts Quark on Freecloud with his bar. A man like Quark would be a good man for a rag-tag group like the La Sirena crew to know!
