Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - Ranking Every Major Character Worst To Best

24. Kai Winn

Star Trek Deep Space Nine
CBS

Winn Adami is just the worst type of person that anyone would ever want to meet. Wrapped head to toe in righteous indignation, she glides through other peoples' lives, ruining them whenever she could.

That smile, that self-assurance, that contempt. It is the perfect combination for such a teeth-grindingly annoying person. And then she becomes the spiritual leader of Bajor, meaning there's no getting rid of her!

Seeing her face off against Kira was always something that set nerves on edges. There were few moments when the two of them were able to find some common ground and, even when they did, Winn always managed to find a way to ruin it. She was able to win most of these arguments due to her position, knowing that Kira's deep respect in their religion would keep her at bay.

She interferes with the supposed Reckoning, a final battle between good and evil that is to be played out on the promenade. In doing so, she sets in motion a chain of events that not only leads to the death of Jadzia Dax and the loss of the Celestial Temple, but also very nearly the death of Ben Sisko as well.

Her final comeuppance in the Fire Caves is both understated and perfect, winked out of existence by a cold question from the Pah-Wraith possessed Dukat: 'Are you still here?'

Gone, and hopefully, forgotten.
