The problem with Nurse Alyssa Ogawa is that the writers never took the time to explore her character. She appears to be Dr. Crusher’s close friend and a trusted colleague. So, why do we never learn anything about her?

In the final season, Nurse Ogawa is pregnant and the show ends before she even gives birth. That’s how little thought the writers gave this underused character.
