Star Wars Rebels: 9 Reasons You Need To Be Watching
8. Voice Actors
Rebels has a very impressive selection of voice actors, ranging from Star Wars veterans to regular animation voice actors. The show certainly isn't without its stars either, as it employs several film stars for smaller, more specific roles.
Most animation enthusiasts will recognise the talents of Steven Blum (Cowboy Bebop), Phil LaMarr (Justice League) and Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh) almost immediately in the show, and Cummings reprises his role as one of The Clone Wars’ minor characters; Hondo Ohnaka.
In addition to these regulars, Rebels welcomes back the legendary voices of James Earl Jones as Darth Vader, Billy Dee Williams as Lando, and Frank Oz as Yoda. Big staples of the Star Wars universe, having these guys returning just for Rebels is a real treat for fans.
The show isn't content with that, as it even employs the talents of many well-known actors for season-long roles. The Grand Inquisitor, a member of the Empire, is played by Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter), and the Seventh Sister is played by cult favourite Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy).
The list could go, but it’s worth noting how well the crew of the Ghost are voiced. Freddie Prinze Jr. does such a commendable job as Kanan, channelling the ‘cowboy' Jedi flawlessly. Also, a certain Tom Baker makes an appearance as a unique character in season 3.
