Stargate Atlantis Cast: Where Are They Now?

Stargate Atlantis was the first live action spin-off series from Stargate SG-1. It was an immensely fun series that suffered a little from pacing and tone issues in the first season, before ramping up the storytelling for its second season onward. It faced ratings challenges and was eventually cancelled at the end of its fifth season, though not before the team managed to make it home (which is more than can be said for the next spin off series!)

Boasting superior CGI to SG-1, it was able to get a little bigger in its storytelling, though it did the same thing that SG-1 did so very well: it aimed to tell the stories of the characters it focused itself on each week. Over the years that it was on TV, the extended cast of characters were easily as lovable as Teal'c, Sam and Daniel Jackson.

Jack O'Neill has a special place in everyone's hearts. It's nothing personal.

The Wraith were also among the greatest villains introduced to the greater Stargate mythology, easily scarier than that Goa'uld in their relentless search for humans to consume.

What then have the actors on this show been up to since it went off the air?

Christopher Heyerdahl has been a character actor for years, appearing in dozens of various projects. He has most recently appeared in Star Trek: Discovery as Wen, a raider from Titan eeking out a desperate existence in space.

Long before this, he was Todd the friendly Wraith (friendly being a stretch), the often times ally of the Atlantis expedition. Though he couldn't be entirely trusted due to his nature, he was at least a grudging helper when needed, joining the assault against the Asurans.

He would also return to help when Teyla was recruited to pose as a Wraith Queen, as he needed to lead his own faction that could defeat other Wraith Hive ships.

Heyerdahl appeared in several other roles in Stargate. He also appeared in the Twilight series as one of the Volturi. He appeared in Smallville, Supernatural, Sanctuary and True Blood.
