6. The Opening Scene

While Stargirl's greatest strengths lie in the optimistic and youthful approach it takes, it also makes time to showcase the heroics that ultimately allowed that narrative to happen. In fact, it's so willing to make time for it that a historic showdown between the Justice Society of America and the Injustice Society kicks things off.

Serving as a teaser, the epic battle is both visually impressive and disturbing, allowing us to see what what happened to the JSA and why they effectively ceased to exist all those years ago.

As someone who appreciates seeing over telling, this writer found the showdown particularly helpful in setting up the central narrative - and it's one that will undoubtedly reel the comic book fans in instantly.
