Stargirl Season 1 Premiere Review: 6 Ups & 2 Downs

Stargirl Injustice Society

One of the reasons why Stargirl might work better if all the episodes were released to audiences at the same time is the fact that it very much presents itself as if it were a film. What this writer means by that is that it doesn't take long to notice that this isn't just another offering of the assembly line of superhero shows, it feels different. No, it looks different.

Whether it's the larger-than-life feel of the visuals, the YA high school drama that thankfully isn't hammed up in over-the-top Riverdale kind of way or the impressive special effects used in the creation of Solomon Grundy, Stargirl's presentation is like that of a big-budget film, and it thrives because of it.

Something tells me that this is only the beginning of what it has in store for us...
