Stranger Things' fourth season wraps up in thrilling - if overlong - fashion.

Though Netflix subscribers are used to their binge-worthy all-at-once season drops, the streamer decided to experiment with the fourth season of their biggest breakout hit, Stranger Things, by releasing it in two separate batches.

Season 4 Volume 1 landed back in late May, and while suffering from an outrageously over-extended runtime, largely delivered the goods. Barely a month later Volume 2 has dropped, which despite consisting of just two episodes clocks in at almost four hours in length.

And so, it won't surprise many to learn that this conclusion to season four suffers from many of the same pacing issues of Volume 1, but as a more-than-feature-length capper to the season, it certainly lives up to the hype.

Fan reaction is likely to vary wildly on just how good these two new episodes are, but it's tough to imagine many coming away disappointed, especially with the show now driving towards its set-in-stone end point, what with the fifth season already being confirmed as its last.

But before we get into all the praise in this spoiler-free review, first here's what doesn't quite work...
