After 15 years on air, Supernatural finally came to an end in 2020. Over the course of the show's 15-year run, the story of the Winchesters' battle against the Supernatural slowly became more complicated and complex as the beings the boys would find themselves fighting against became increasingly powerful.

Though the show did do a good job in answering and fully closing the book on many storylines, there were some that were left unfinished. As the series continued throughout the years, the behind the scenes of Supernatural went through multiple showrunners, directors and creative teams, making it hard to remember to answer every plot point in the show.

However, many fans are burning to know what the answers could be to these unresolved stories. Some storylines have been forgotten on purpose due to the backlash the series got, while a lucky few were brought back into later seasons to give fans the closure they needed but some were just plain forgotten.

For a small screen offering that ran as long as it did, we can forgive the showrunners for forgetting some of these plot point. That said, it’s these ten unanswered questions many fans are dying to know the answers to.

10. Who Is Sam's Wife?

One of the biggest unanswered questions after watching the Supernatural finale is who is Sam's blurred out wife? We see Sam shown with his son Dean at various points of his life over the years, but the audience only gets a slight glimpse of Sam's wife standing on the porch while Sam and their son play baseball. Many fans believe that his wife may be Sam's love interest Eileen after it's been assumed Jack revived her once he absorbed all of God's powers; however, this was never confirmed.

Fans of the show were rightly disappointed that they never got to see who Sam ended up with. Only getting a blurry, long-distance shot of her standing on the porch felt like a punch in the gut to many life-long fans of the series. After witnessing Dean die (for the very last time) in front of him, fans were excited to see who Sam would finally settle down with and have a so-called "apple pie life".

Jared Padalecki was asked about this storyline and if his wife is anyone specific. Padalecki answered no, that the character was meant to be open to fan interpretation, and he even stated that in the script the blurred character was not revealed to be anyone other than a character simply named WOMAN.
