11. Season Fourteen
Season fourteen deserves to go down as one of the show's most emotional chapters. As Dean is possessed by Michael, Sam is forced to put himself on the line, and Jack continues to grapple with his identity crisis. To top it off, the 300th episode heralds the return of Sam and Dean's father, John, a twist which sees the brothers finally get some things off their chest.
The majority of the season is quite slow in parts, as it lays the groundwork for the show's final season, but it's well crafted and does a great job and setting the series on its final stretch.
With some of the show's most emotionally affecting scenes (seriously, that family reunion) and one of its strongest season finales, season fourteen has all you'd really want from Supernatural, even if it can sometimes feel like its forcing itself to tie off some loose ends.
