Supernatural: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best

7. Season Thirteen

Supernatural finale
The CW

Following the bland forgettability of its predecessor, Supernatural's thirteenth season found a way to breathe new life into the Winchester Brothers' epic fight against the forces of evil. With Michael on the scene and wreaking havoc, the threat meter was amped up to eleven and the show finally had some direction once more, with a clear endgame in sight.

Perhaps the most refreshing aspect of the season remains its experimentation. This was the season that brought fans the brilliant if weird Supernatural/Scooby-Doo crossover, and saw Sam, Dean and Castiel working to open the portal to Apocalypse World. Also, Jack gets more time to shine, trying to find his place amongst the chaos.

If anything, season thirteen really proved the show could have gone on forever, constantly remixing the formula and bringing new themes and stories to life with ease. It's a dark, funny and daring addition to the show, and following season twelve, it's also a very welcome one.
